Tyrann Mathieu recruited his Texans teammates to help pass out turkeys and Thanksgiving meals to local families as a part of his annual holiday giving event, ‘Tyrann’s Turkeys’.

The funds Mathieu donated to the Houston Food Bank provided Thanksgiving turkeys to 320 total families (a nod to his jersey number, 32), as well as traditional fixings (stuffing mix, potatoes, fruits & veggies, milk, eggs, desserts and more) to assist in a bountiful holiday.

H-E-B Summerwood Market contributed to the event by providing additional food items, helping to provide additional Thanksgiving staples to local families. On site, Mathieu distributed full Thanksgiving meals for 200 families, while the additional 120 turkeys were distributed by the Houston Food Bank.

Mathieu’s donation will also help fund Houston Food Bank’s Backpack Buddy program, which provides nutritious, kid-friendly food for the weekend for at-risk children in schools grade K-12 and at Houston Food Bank’s summer meal program sites.
